5 Things Gen Y Can’t Live Without

Our generation is a lot different than previous generations.  The huge advancements in technology will set our generation apart and lead us into a future that is both exciting and challenging.  I decided to put together a list of 5 things our generation can’t live without.  See if you agree or disagree:

 

1. Internet: The internet to us is a must have.  We do everything on the web; from buying clothes to getting a date, we rely on the web to survive.  
2. Cell Phones: We are the first generation to have a cell phone as a teenager.  God-forbid if we can’t text our friends or call our boy/girl friends at any second of the day. 
3. iPod: Music is the one language that we can all understand; it’s the universal language.  For a young person to have an ipod today, is like saying Lil’ Wayne is going to get another tattoo, it’s a given. 
4. Graduate Degree: Yes, it has come to this; more schooling.  Advancing in the workforce today no longer only requires a 4 year degree.  You now need a graduate degree to be considered for higher up positions at work.  I don’t make the rules, I just report them. 
5. Roth IRA:  The Roth IRA was first introduced in 1997; so it is a relatively new savings vehicle.  The benefits it provides makes the Roth IRA a perfect fit for everyone in our generation.  Remember, if you have a pulse and earned income you can contribute to your Roth IRA.
