Who Says Gen Y Can't Multi-Task

I recently checked out Wikipedia to search “Generation Y” and I saw a couple interesting statistics that I thought were worth sharing.  Our generation get’s a bad wrap for being lazy or having things handed to us on a silver platter, but what I found on wikipedia says otherwise.  The study goes on to say that 72% of Generation Y has Instant Messaged (IM) in their life.  Out of those who have Instant Messaged:

• 92% of IM users reported doing something else on the computer while IMing.
• 75% of IM users reported doing something else (e.g., talking on the phone) while IMing.
• 75% of IM users reported doing schoolwork at the same time as IMing.

So to those of you who have criticized our generation for being lazy and not being able to multi-task, I ask that you reconsider your views after seeing these eye-popping statistics!
