Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended ![]() Home Buyer Tax Credit ExtendedCongress passed the first time $8,000 home buyers tax credit past its original November 2009 deadline. The law is now set to expire by having to sign a purchase agreement by April 30, 2010 and closing the deal by June 30, 2010. The new law will also extend a $6,500 tax credit to homebuyers who have lived in their home for at least the past five years. The tax credit is only good for a primary residence so vacation and investment property deos not qualify.
